Botanical Garden & Elephantine Island

Enjoy a half day excursion by a traditional felucca around the Botanical Garden which was used by the Nubians to settle in it and they called it Jet Narty. In the year of 1899 lord Kitchener take the island to be a place where his campaign can rest, and call it the lord's house. After his death, this island belonged to the ministry of agriculture and Elephantine Island. The island named Elephantine as it was a major ivory trading center or because Egyptians first saw the Elephant in this district. The island is considered a natural boundary between Egypt and Nubia.
